Our Story · Why We Started

It Started With A Student
No Report Card Could See.

When an entrepreneur and an educator kept running into the same gap, they decided to join forces and do something about it. They noticed the skills that mattered most were the ones nobody could measure — so they built the instrument that could.

IMPACTER began the way most real things do: with a problem two people couldn't stop thinking about. Students were showing up with {Curiosity, Purpose, and Compassion} that no assessment could measure. The most important things about them deserved proof, not guesswork.

When The Classroom Moved Home.

When schools closed, Danny watched learning move to his own kitchen table. His kids were suddenly the whole class. What carried them through wasn't a test score. It was whether they could stay curious, steady themselves on a hard day, and keep going when no one was watching. Those were the skills that mattered. They were also the ones no one was measuring.

The system

Accountable For
The Whole Child.

Josh had spent his career on the other side of that gap, inside district leadership, in the rooms where systems decide what counts. Durable skills lived in every graduate profile and almost none of the data. He didn't want another program to run. He wanted evidence a system could stand behind.

Where it led

We Built This Because
The Tools Didn't Exist.

IMPACTER started as a durable-skills solution,
grounded in Harvard’s Making Caring Common research.
Today, we turn a student’s own words into decision-grade evidence
and make skills data available at the scale a system can actually run on.
